A Fighting Spirit: Cherokee County in World War II on Exhibit at History MuseumThe Cherokee County Historical Society is pleased to announce the upcoming temporary exhibition, A Fighting Spirit: Cherokee County in World War II, to be featured at the Cherokee County History Museum and Visitor’s Center. The exhibit will focus on Cherokee County during World War II and features original uniforms, objects, letters, and photographs. There will also be three new videos accompanied by personal first-hand accounts of local citizens who served overseas. The exhibit will run from October 19 to the end of December and will be located in Suite 140 of the historic marble courthouse. This will be second in a series of temporary exhibitions; following it will be an exhibit on local African-American history in 2012. The museum is located at 100 North Street, Canton 30114 and is free and open to the public. Operating hours are Wednesday-Friday from 10 to 5pm and Saturday from 10 to 3pm. |
